BBI: Wealth of Russian billionaires falls by $60 bln in Jan–Jul
MOSCOW, Aug 1 (PRIME) -- The combined wealth of Russia’s billionaires decreased by U.S. $60.25 billion in January–July, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) seen by PRIME on Monday.
The index is calculated using capitalization and the financial reports of the companies owned by the businessmen, or a capitalization to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) ratio and or a share price to earnings per share ratio. The rating comprises 500 wealthiest people of the world, including 25 Russians.
Vladimir Potanin, one of the core owners of metals giant Norilsk Nickel, led the rating with a $691 million wealth rise to $31.6 billion.
Independent gas producer Novatek’s co-owner Leonid Mikhelson ranked second with the wealth falling $5.73 billion to $26.7 billion.
Vladimir Lisin, beneficiary of steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), lost $5.5 billion to $22.5 billion, occupying the third place.
